Elite Traveler Fall 2022

INSPIRE TOP WATCHES

TopWatches For the sixth consecutive year, we embark on a mission to bring you, our discerning readers, the best that the watch world has to o ff er. Today more than ever before, watch brands are breaking records, pioneering new technologies, using materials that have never been embraced before, and implementing extraordinary métiers d’arts crafts that yield true works of art for the wrist. In honor of this year’s Top Watches, we hold ourselves to high standards, showcasing pieces that are world fi rsts or that represent important artistic, technical or design breakthroughs. Our criteria: a minimum retail price of $10,000; watches that have been newly released since our last Top Watches feature in Fall of 2021; and watches that are much more than just a pretty update in terms of dial colors or di ff erent metals for existing timepieces. In the ensuing pages, we o ff er a closer look at 40 watches that represent the ever-evolving craftsmanship of the centuries-old art of watchmaking.

World fi rsts These remarkable watches are like no other — new technolo gy and mind-bending craftsmanship make for a number of world fi rsts and, in some cases, record-breaking models

HERMÈS ARCEAU LE TEMPS VOYAGEUR A world fi rst and a watch-lover favorite, the new Arceau Le Temps Voyageur watch from Hermès boasts a small time-only dial that is inset onto the main face of the watch and that travels around the dial on its own as the world-time indication. A red arrow points to the city that the second time zone is currently displaying. Home time is told at the 12 o’clock position. The 122-part module (created by Chronode) that sits on the H1837 mechanical self-winding movement (made by Vaucher, of which Hermès owns 25%) took three years to develop. $22,550, available at Hermès in Beverly Hills, +1 310 278 6440, hermes.com
