BOERBOOM BRINGS EXPERIENCE TO THE BASKETBALL PROGRAM CU L T U R E N EW

Boerboom graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Superior with a degree in history and coaching. While at UWS, he also served in the basketball programs as a student assistant coach. He furthered his education with a master’s degree in sports management, with an emphasis on coaching theory and strategy, from APU.

His personal mission is “to use athletics to cultivate virtuous and steadfast athletes to pursue that which is eternally significant through the medium of competition.” Thereby focusing on the process and trusting that the results will take care of themselves. Additionally, Coach Boerboom eagerly takes on the role of teaching the seventh-grade
spent a year in the Waller area, where he was entrusted with establishing an athletic department at a K-8 startup school. During this period, he coached various sports, including cross country, volleyball, boys’ and girls’ basketball and track. Prior to his time in Waller, Coach Boerboom gained experience in college coaching, serving as an assistant and JV head women’s basketball coach at the University of Wisconsin - Superior. His contributions to the team’s unprecedented success, included victories over nationally-ranked opponents and contributed to the team being ranked for several weeks of the year. Coach Boerboom’s coaching journey began at Brazos Christian School, where he spent five years developing and overseeing the PE program while coaching JV boys’ basketball and varsity girls’ basketball. During his time at BCS, he transformed the girls’ basketball program into a district champion and state contender while introducing a JV team for the first time in the school’s history. Beyond his coaching achievements, Coach Boerboom’s primary focus is on building relationships with his athletes and discipling them in their Christian faith. He sees athletics and competition as valuable tools for instilling a growth mindset in our

WE FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT COACH BOERBOOM’S EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE WILL SIGNIFICANTLY CONTRIBUTE TO THE GROWTH AND SUCCESS OF OUR BOYS’ BASKETBALL PROGRAM. Coach Boerboom comes to us from the Geneva School of Boerne where he has served over the past nine years, the most recent seven years as Athletic Director. During his tenure, Geneva won four Henderson Cups, two of which were under Boerboom’s leadership. As a former Athletic Director, Coach Boerboom is well-acquainted with the importance of supporting all CCS teams’ success, in addition to his focus on nurturing our boys’ basketball program and Geneva, Coach Boerboom was involved in coaching for eight years, achieving two district championships, one middle school championship, and coming within a shot of reaching a state final four. His coaching efforts extended to summer and club ball teams. His approach to building a successful program is to develop the younger grades and invest in the overall health of the program from varsity to elementary.
