There is a separate tour for The Chicago Theatre. All tickets are available through Ticketmaster. LAW The Daley Center Judge E. Kenneth Wright, Jr. The Richard J. Daley Center is home to multiple divisions of the Circuit Court of Cook County, including First Municipal, County, Law, Chancery, Domestic Relations, Probate, and Traf fic. Judges in these 180 courtrooms resolve conflicts. A public space, anyone can observe interesting hearings, speak with judges and legal professionals, or take a formal tour of the building (free and offered weekly via the Office of the Chief Judge!). Finally, vis itors should not miss the law library. Located on the 29th Floor, it is the best kept secret in Chicago with sweeping 360-degree views of the city, treatises, and law journals. thedaleycenter.com Chicago is the home of several law schools and legal institutions. Best known nationally are the University of Chicago Law School (located in Hyde Park) and Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. More local but very active are: DePaul University College of Law; Loyola University Chicago School of Law; University of Illinois Chicago School of Law (formerly the John Marshall Law School); and IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. Chicago is also the headquarters of the Chicago Bar Association and the Ameri can Bar Association. These institutions are worth visiting and are in or accessible from downtown. Memories are still being made at the Civic Opera House, home of Lyric Opera of Chicago. Al Capone loved opera, but rumor has it he would not attend a performance unless flanked by at least 15 heavy-duty bodyguards. On a more modern techno note, the Ghost of Maria Callas graced the Civic Opera House in 2019 via virtual reality. The audience gasped when her tiny steps glided across the stage to shake hands with the Irish conductor. It was truly a magical evening, and Capone would have given it a rave review. How about international films or classic American cinema? Check out the Gene Siskel Film Center at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Chicagoplays.com lists most of the plays running in the area and is an easy way to find a show that fits your budget and schedule. It allows you to narrow searches, even by specific accessibility needs, so everyone can enjoy the show. Check out Hottix.org (or its booth in Block 37) where you can find last-minute and half-price tickets. The Goodman, the Studebaker, and the Steppenwolf theaters all have reputations for consistently putting on quality performances. If
