It’s easy for casinos to fall into a stan dard“formula” for their restaurants. We’ve tried very hard to avoid that. We look at our restaurants as “free-standing” venues. For instance, we just don’t want a casino steakhouse,we want a steakhouse that is known for its great service and amazing food—something the neighbors are proud of and a steakhouse that people seek out. It is definitely some thing we strive for. We are extremely proud of our casino. We like to say it’s an“easy” place to play.I think it’s one of the cleanest and most interesting casinos located off-Strip.We also work hard to ensure there is the proper mix of slot machines—and we are featuring what’s popular with our guests. For instance,we created the first Lightning Link lounge, giving our play ers more of these progressive machines that are so popular. When Dragon Link became popular,we added a substantial number of those machines alongside the Lightning Link machines. The same went for the Buffalo slot machines—they continue to be a phenomenon among play ers. So, we corralled them all together and created what we call the “Buffalo Xing.”We take our casino seriously here, so you will find our management out among the slots and tables talking to our guests and asking them what they like. We are extremely proud of our 117,000-gallon aquarium. It’s the focal point of the Silverton Casino, with an astonishing amount of salt water and thousands of tropical fish—one hundred species of fish— four distinct species of sharks, five breeds of stingray and… yes … a unique class of Silverton mermaids.Maritime legends say that spotting a mermaid would bring sailors luck for the rest of the day. So it makes sense that a casino would have mermaids. ´
