West Michigan boasts plenty of nature centers ready to open your eyes to the wonders that can be found all throughout the area’s outdoors. They’re great places to learn from nature interpreters, sign up for a nature program, or explore on your own. Pierce Cedar Creek Institute in Hastings invites you to explore their trails through wetlands, forests, marshes, streams, lakes, and prairies, or attend an educational program. Sarett Nature Center in Benton Harbor offers dozens of different educational nature programs for families, plus eight miles of trails to explore.
You’ll fi nd Raven Hill Discovery Center in East Jordan next to the Little Traverse Conservancy’s Raven Ridge Nature Preserve, with hands-on activities and exploration. Download their Virtual Map before you visit Blandford Nature Center in Grand Rapids, and it will guide you through their trails, points of interest, and educational videos throughout their property. Explore both land and water at Grass River Natural Area in Bellaire on their seven miles of trails and boardwalks, taking you past lakes, a meandering river, rushing streams, and crystal clear creeks.
