memorating our anniversary year, includ ing the Community Legal Fair at Richard J. Daley Plaza and the 5K Run/Walk at Soldier Field as part of the CBA’s Impact Day. As some of you know, this bar year was particularly busy for me, as I also welcomed a third son into my family and co-founded a personal injury law firm. The unwavering support and teamwork I experienced first-hand this year makes me proud to be a member. I would like to give a special thanks to a few individuals for their support and leadership this year: Emily Anderson (YLS Administrative Director): You are the heart and soul of the YLS. All the great programming the YLS put on this year would not be possi ble without your leadership and attention to detail. Thanks for keeping the YLS— and especially me—on task. Kenneth Matuszewski (First Vice Chair): As I said at the Past Chairs Luncheon, like Jon Amarilio, you’ve bled blue, white, and gold for years. Thank you for always offering to step up whenever needed and for your leadership in planning the YLS mentorship programs, the “Forty Years of Love with Lawyers in the Classroom” fun draiser event, and leading the initiative to review the Section’s Bylaws. I have no doubt that the YLS will be in great hands next year with you as Chair. Gavin Phelps (Second Vice Chair): Thank you for bringing your positive energy to our meetings and events and for leading the CBA Transactional Negotiation Com petition as well as Diversity Week.

As the sun sets on my tenure, I’ve taken time to reflect on the year, what we have accomplished, the obstacles we faced, and most importantly, the tremendous contributions from the dedicated and talented team of attorneys and staff who made up this year’s YLS Executive Council. The Executive Council is composed of approximately 100 volun teer attorneys, spanning nearly every prac tice area, who work tirelessly to plan and execute all the YLS’s incredible events— including our renowned CLE program ming, networking and social events, and philanthropy—and lead our dozens of substantive practice committees and public service committees and projects. I want to acknowledge all of you for your hard work and dedication that made this Section and bar year a success. Thank you! This bar year was special for our mem bership because the CBA was commemo rating its 150th Anniversary. On top of the robust programming, YLS Executive Council members volunteered their time to support many of the great events com
