Judge Carr noted that Domestic Relations judges must look to what is fair, and if the judge deviates from the statute, this devia- tion must be explained. Judge Wright asked the judges if they had any pet peeves regarding practitioners who appear in front of them. Although the panelists did not volunteer a lot of information in response, Judge Johnson did note that many lawyers don’t follow the rules of evidence, which is not good practice. Judge Wright asked what are the prevalent cases and statutes that everyone must have in their arsenal. Judge Dickler reminded everyone that there are many, many appeals in Domestic Relations matters each year. It is imperative that we keep up with the cases and the law.
