THOMAS GRAYSON- MERITT BOWERS , age 34, died unexpect edly in Chicago, Ill., on June 10, 2025. Born in Lexington, Ky., October 12,
ANNA ROBERTA GWINN , age 71, of Lexington, died on May 24, 2025. She was born on September 10, 1953, the daughter of Robert Lafayette Gwinn and Lela Ruth McCarty Gwinn, in New Orleans. She was known as Robin to family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Richard Ausness, along with brother, James and wife, Jennifer Gwinn, nieces, Brookelynn and Hanna Justine Gwinn, and sister, Myrtie Gwinn Wallace. She will be missed by loving extended family and dear friends. Robin retired as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. She enjoyed travel, music, the arts and reading, as well as painting classes and she participated in the UK Olli Program and yoga classes. She found and cultivated beauty in everyone and everything she touched. She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness and generosity, and for her bravery and noble spirit. 1990, he was the beloved son of C. Rich ard Bowers, Jr., and Barbara J. Bowers. He attended Sayre School, graduating in 2009. Thomas was a member of the baseball team and excelled in academ ics. He attended Vanderbilt University and DePauw University and graduated from DePauw in 2013 where he was a member of the swimming and diving team. He then attended the Univer sity of Illinois Chicago John Marshall Law School in Chicago and graduated in 2016. He was licensed to practice law in California, Illinois, Washing ton D.C., and Kentucky. Thomas was a partner in the Lexington law firm of Piper and Bowers, PSC, where he spe cialized in medical malpractice defense and practiced with his mother Barbara J. Bowers. He was well respected and liked amongst his peers. Thomas's great loves were travel, family, and friends. He traveled extensively and internation ally. He loved cooking, socializing and living life to the fullest. His wit, charm and good nature were always present. He was loved by many and will be sorely missed by friends and family. JOHN GEORGE TREITZ, JR. , died August 8 th , 2025, at his Louisville home. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. John was born March 19 th , 1946, in Louisville to John George Treitz, Sr., and Jean Lee Barnhill Treitz. He was a graduate of Waggener High School and Vanderbilt University (B.A. and J.D.). John was dedicated to the practice of law for more than 50 years and served as a member at Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC
since 1994. He had an extensive track record of success, particularly in real estate law, where he earned multiple distinctions both in Kentucky and nationally. He previously served as the chairman of the real estate, planning and zoning section of the Louisville Bar Association and received numerous recognitions highlighting his legal service. John was active in politics throughout his life starting in high school as a member of the Young Republicans, in college as elected senator-at-large and two-time class president, and throughout his career in the local and state Republican Parties. He was a veteran having enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves. John served as a past board member of Louisville's The Salvation Army and Episcopal Church Home, and was vice chair of Meritas Inc., an international consortium of law firms. John devoted his life to his family and enjoyed hosting gatherings at his home for those he loved. His sound advice was sought and relied upon by both friends and family.
