WELCOME MEMBERS! NEW CLE COMMISSION BY CLE DIRECTOR CASSIE COOPER
CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION
W e are pleased to announce the Kentucky Supreme Court’s new appointments to the Continuing Legal Education Commission. Megan P. Keane will represent the Fourth Supreme Court District and Stephen McGinnis will be the new chair of the Commission. The appointments became effective on July 1, 2025. The CLE Commission is made up of one attorney representative from each of the seven Supreme Court Districts. Each representa tive is appointed by the Kentucky Supreme Court and volunteers his or her time in a spirit of public service with the goal of bet tering the profession we have chosen. In addition to the seven attorney Commissioners, the KBA is fortunate enough to have Justice Robert B. Conley serving as the Supreme Court Liaison to the KBA CLE Commission.
Megan P. Keane is a partner at the law firm of Gordon Rees Scully & Mansukhani LLP. She is a member of the commercial litigation, construction, and professional liability defense practice groups. Megan has extensive experience volunteering her time in legal orga nizations, including various leadership roles. At the local level, she is a member of the board of directors for the LBA as its delegate to the MEGAN P. KEANE NEW CLE COMMISSION MEMBER REPRESENTING THE FOURTH SUPREME COURT DISTRICT
ABA House of Delegates. She has also served as a pupil, associate, and barrister member of the Brandeis American Inn of Courts. At the state level, Megan served on the KBA Young Lawyers Division from 2014 to 2023. She served as chair, vice chair, secretary/treasurer, at-large board member, and fourth district represen tative. During her tenure as chair of the YLD she also served a one-year term on the KBA Board of Governors. She is a former board member of the Kentucky Bar Foundation and currently serves as a member of the Circuit Court Clerk Conduct Commission by appointment of former Chief Justice Minton. The purpose of the CLE Commission is to administer and regulate all con tinuing legal education programs and activities of the KBA. This includes ensuring that the members of the KBA complete high quality, timely CLE programming each year. From developing and implementing rules and policies that ensure high stan dards in the accreditation of CLE programming, to developing and sponsoring quality programming, to regulating attorney compliance with the mandatory minimum CLE requirements, the CLE Commission is working toward the increased competency of the legal profession in Kentucky.
