Over 19,000 attorneys are licensed to practice in the state of Kentucky. It is vitally important that you keep the Kentucky Bar Association (KBA) informed of your correct mailing address. Pursuant to SCR 3.035, all KBA members must maintain a current address at which he or she may be communicated, as well as a physical address if your mailing address is a Post Office address. If you move, you must notify the Executive Director of the KBA within 10 days. All roster changes must be in writing and must include your 5-digit KBA member identification number. Address or e-mail changes?! Notify the Kentucky Bar Association Director a unique, valid email address and shall upon change of that address notify the Director within 10 days of the new address. Members who are classified as a “Senior Retired Inactive” or “Disabled Inactive” member are not required to maintain a valid email address on file and those “Honorary” members who no longer actively practice law or maintain an office. Members are also required by SCR 3.035 to maintain with the

• Approved the reserve/surplus carry for ward of section funds for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. In addition, approved send ing a letter to the section chairs notifying them that they will need to provide an annual report of their activities for the past year as well as their plans for future activities. • Approved the reserve/surplus carry for ward of the Clients’ Security Fund for fiscal year ending on June 30, 2024. In addition, approved structured formula regarding the fund limits. • Ratified the email vote to approve Nora Currens as the nominee for the 50 th Cir cuit Judicial Nominating Commission due to the resignation of Whitney Johns. • Approved one (1) Disabled Inactive Status request pursuant to SCR 3.030(6) (a). • Mr. Meyers reported that the KBA and KBF/IOLTA have sent out a joint request for proposals to approximately 13 dif ferent entities seeking an investment adviser to manage their investment funds. To date 11 proposals have been submitted, and a meeting is scheduled for December 4 to narrow down the top entities. • Mr. Meyers reported that the follow ing members were elected to the Board of Governors for a two-year term beginning on July 1, 2025: 2 nd District Stephanie McGehee-Shacklette, Bowl ing Green, 3 rd District Sarah Hay Knight, Somerset, 5 th District LaToi D. Mayo, Lexington, and 7 th District Miranda D. Click, Pikeville. Pursuant to Sec tion 9 of the Bylaws, an election will be conducted in the 4 th District between Sheila P. Hiestand, Megan P. Keane and Hammad M. Khan, all from Louisville and in the 6 th District between Cather ine D. Stavros, Ft. Mitchell and Jay R. Vaughn, Goshen. The Board will need to appoint a member for the 1 st District since no petitions were filed.

• Mr. Meyers reported that the CLE Abroad will be held in Ireland on May 7–13, 2025. • Director of Communications Shannon Roberts reported on the results of the Communications Survey which was sent out in the last week of October. There were 847 responses. The survey covered areas such as Bench & Bar, eNews, social media, blast emails and member bene fits. Members were asked how they liked to receive their information and over whelmingly the response was to receive it via blast emails. The results showed the members feel they are receiving the correct amount of digital media news from the KBA. The preferred method of receiving the Bench & Bar is both print and digitally. In addition, mem bers responded that they enjoy themed editions, shorter article lengths, featured sections and most respondents follow the KBA on Facebook and LinkedIn. • Mr. Meyers reported he is waiting to receive proposals from the following IT companies: Olatech, Imperium, and IMIS software, as well as a proposal from Euclid, a software company that works with other mandatory Bar Associations and is familiar with the CLE process. • Mr. Meyers reviewed information based on the material used by the DC Bar, who is the newest member of the Southern Conference, regarding the Status of Mandatory Bar Challenges across the country.
