In Memoriam

MARY JO (GUMBERT) MOLO NEY, passed away on Ash Wednesday, March 5, 2025, in her hometown of Lexington. She was born on Septem ber 24, 1963, to the late Dr. George and Eva "Skip" (Madden) Gumbert, Jr. Her brother, George M. Gumbert III, also predeceased her. Mary Jo pursued her passion for justice and advocacy at the University of Kentucky, where she earned her law degree. She was a gradu ate of Centre College. Her commitment to her community included involve ment with various local organizations, including membership of the Junior League of Lexington (past horse show chairperson), and trustee of the Aviation Museum of Kentucky. Additionally, her faith and devotion were clear to all who knew her as an active member of the Cathedral of Christ the King in Lexing ton. Mary Jo cherished her family. She is survived by her husband of 33 + years, Phillip Moloney, with whom she built a beautiful life and raised three wonderful children: Andrew M. Moloney, Margaret M. Moloney, and Kathleen M.
