Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee M embership growth has always been a passion for Dave Sherrill, Region V vice president, and it has continued throughout his time as RVP. Region V won the Membership Cup in 2023, and he’d like to see the region repeat in 2025 after

falling one percentage point short in 2024. “The big picture for our region is to further the vision of NABIP on a national level and keep membership growth in peoples’ minds,” he says. In addition to membership, leadership continuation is a key goal for Sherrill. “I would love to get more continuity in leadership across each of the states,” he says. Right now, of Region V’s seven states, two of them “are extremely inactive,” Sherrill notes. However, in his home state of Florida, local chapters are thriving. Feeling the pain points around Medicare Advantage commission changes, Sherrill, president and CEO of Sherrill Insurance Brokerage, encourages as many members as possible to attend Capitol Conference and voice their concerns to their representatives.
Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas T he key goal for Region VI in 2025 is to build its membership foundation, says Kevin Trokey, Region VI vice president. Telling NABIP’s story at every opportunity will help non-members understand where they will fit within the association and why they need to become members. “It should also reinforce the value and impact of membership for our existing members and help improve retention,” says Trokey, founding partner of Q4intelligence. Personally, Trokey intends to spend 2025 working on making volunteering in NABIP a rewarding commitment. “We will continue to identify NABIP goals and personal goals for each of our leaders, and I will help them identify the easiest wins possible to achieve those goals, along with a dose of supportive accountability,” he says. “It is NABIP’s responsibility to ensure our leaders are successful and feel rewarded for their volunteer efforts.” What will those rewards be? “They feel rewarded when they successfully perform their role,” says Trokey. “Too often, our volunteer leaders come into a position and have no idea of what to do. In turn, they feel bad for not performing. If we identify quick and easy wins on which they can build momentum, they will feel proud of their contribution and the difference it makes.”

recognize people or events that shift our focus and intentions, navigating us to a unique true north,” says Ideus, Region IV vice president. “With that, the ultimate goal for Region IV in 2025 is for every member to have an opportunity
