The Maryland Statehouse is the backdrop for the Maryland Chapter’s Afternoon & Evening in Annapolis event, which combines a two-CE credit advocacy educational session with the opportunity for members to attend a meet and-greet with legislators. The event has become an annual way to kick off the state’s legislative session and keep the association’s advocacy priorities front and center with lawmakers.

When Nancy Colaianne, strategic advisor and administrative director of the Health & Employee Benefits Division of TriBridge Partners in Columbia, Maryland, joined the Baltimore Association of Health Underwriters eight years ago, she received an unusual request for a new member. “I was joining, and they asked me to become president at the same time,” she laughs. What followed was a series of association leadership roles culminating in her work to help the Maryland chapter earn gold-certified status, recognition that the chapter goes “above and beyond” in serving members. Nancy Colaianne led NABIP Maryland to new heights.
