ALDINE ISD LAUNCHES NEW 5-YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN, ACCELERATE Aldine ISD unveiled a new strategic

Accelerate continues AISD’s current journey and builds on those strong foundations. The plan is the result of comprehensive listening and collaborative working ses sions with AISD’s stakeholders — the ini tiative involved more than 500 students, staff, district leaders, and business/com munity partners. This collective effort underscores the district’s dedication to building a framework that will guide our shared hopes, dreams, and vision for each and every one of our students. Through robust dialogue, compre hensive diagnostics, and stakeholder engagement, the district’s strategic priorities for Accelerate emerged: Students First, Instructional Excellence, Thriving Teams, and Aligned Systems. The commitments outlined in the Por trait of a Graduate, which is at the heart

of the strategic plan, underline the pri orities. The guiding model sets forth the qualities that every Aldine ISD student should embody before walking across the stage to accept their diploma. Monitoring progress is critical as the district implements the new strategic plan. Using a guided and deliberate project plan that aligns with the Board of Trustees’ goals, the district will track and share its mission measures to en sure AISD is on course. “While we have a new set of priorities to guide our work, we will never lose sight of what we’ve promised in our mission: Aldine ISD will provide a rigorous and enriching educational experience that prepares every student for success in college, career, and life. “Together, we will accelerate toward an empowered tomorrow for every student.”

plan during Convocation for staff before the start of the new school year. The plan will provide the foundation for the district’s efforts over the next five years as it seeks to fulfill its new priorities. “ Accelerate , which spans between 2024 and 2029, will propel our work forward and further drive student success,” said Superintendent Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney. “By amplifying what’s effective, refin ing strategies, and swiftly addressing areas that require improvement, we will advance our work and increase student achievement for all Aldine ISD students.” In 2019, the district unveiled the stra tegic plan A New Way Forward . The bold plan served as the framework to ensure all students had access to high-quality schools and learning experiences that would prepare them for their future.

ALDINE ISD STUDENTS EARN NEARLY 100 AP SCHOLAR AWARDS FROM COLLEGE BOARD

Every fall, the College Board’s AP Pro gram recognizes high school students who have demonstrated exemplary college-level achievement through their performance on multiple Advanced Placement Exams. Students can include these significant academic distinctions on college and scholarship applications, among other things. Aldine ISD is proud to announce that 77 students across the district earned one

or more remarkable distinctions as AP Scholars of 2024 for their exemplary achievement on AP exams during the 2023-2024 school year. The students earned nearly 100 AP awards, a 46% increase from the previous year. “We are incredibly proud of our stu dents’ dedication and achievement in advanced academics,” said Dr. Susan Pelezo, executive director of advanced academics. “The significant increase in

AP awards this year reflects their hard work, our teachers’ commitment, and our community’s support. These distinctions are not just accolades; they represent our students’ readiness for the challenges of higher education and beyond. Aldine ISD remains committed to our CCMR (College, Career, and Military Readiness) goals in providing every student with the opportunities and resources they need to excel.”
