Adirondack Peeks Summer 2024

Volunteer Service Hour Recog nition as of 12/31/2023 I n the table, those individuals who were awarded vol unteer service recognition awards are listed. The table includes the level of award being given this year, the individual's cumulative VSH (Volunteer Service Hours), an inclusive breakdown of volunteer contributions by activity as reported by activity coordinators, and the total hours, per person, for all of their efforts. By level of award, two individuals earned the 746-hour award, three earned the 546-hour award, five earned the 346-hour award, ten earned the 146-hour award, which includes the awarding of the gold patch (see image), and 22 individuals earned the 46-hour award. Additionally, Sherri Martin earned the prestigious 1,046 hour award. Sherri has served as a trail worker in past, and currently serves as the food co-coordinator for the OSW. Seven individuals logged over 100 hours of VSH in 2023, some in one project, others in more than one project. The hours for four of them triggered elevation to a higher patch. Altogether, 162 members contributed 5,923 hours of volunteer service in six different projects; this equates very closely to three full-time people for one year! Time is recorded by activity coordinators and submitted at the end of each calendar year; these are compiled and tabulated in the early part of the following calendar year in time for that year's spring meeting and publication in PEEKS magazine.
