A subspecies that flowers a bit later than the species. Great plant for the sunny border or meadow planting. A bit less formal, great for cutting. The best news is it is not as susceptible to septoria (black leaf spot that sometimes affects Black-Eyed Susans). A bit smaller flowered with more orange and a flatter cone. 30" clumps. 30" Zones 4-8 JUL-AUG R. fulgida 'Little Goldstar' LITTLE GOLDSTAR Little Goldstar only grows 14-16" high and wide. The large 2-2½" golden Black-Eyed Susan blooms are on strong stems above dark green foliage, but on a petite plant. Great for cutting and a profusion of bloomwith up to 80 flowers per plant. Find a sunny location in almost any soil and you will be set for this easy maintenance perennial. Lavender-blue flowers adorn this plant almost all season. Height of 18-24".
