A great, disease resistant crabapple! Crisp, dark green foliage is outstanding. Pale pink buds open to white and precede the rich red ½" perisistent fruits that remain on the tree all year. A nice small crab for the smaller landscape. This crab only grows 12' tall and only 5' wide! A narrow columnar tree when young, maturing to somewhat rounded form. Foliage emerges purple fading to bronze-green. The flowers are single and dark red. The fruit is ½" and also very dark red. Upright, spreading habit. Bright pinkish red flowers combine with deep purple cut-leaf foliage to present a unique new crab. Deeply lobed leaves and upright form with good branching and density. An upright, pyramidal crab with single white flowers, followed by bright red ½" persistent fruits that last all winter.
