Northern Pin Oak is a fine Oak native to the upper midwest. Glossy dark green leaves with pointed lobes will turn a deep, dark red in the fall. This oak will thrive in light, sandy, acid soils but will tolerate heavier soils as well. Pyramidal in youth, becoming oval to rounded with age. Upright, oval variety of Sugar Maple which has shown good heat tolerance. Summer foliage is a leathery, dark green with an excellent orange-red color in the fall. Prefers a well-drained, acidic soil. 60-75'x35-40' Zones 4-7

A vigorous Oak hybrid cross between Q. robur fastigiata (Upright English Oak) and Q. bicolor (Swamp White Oak). Foliage is green with silvery undersides. Tolerant of a wide range of soil types, wet and dry. Gets to about 50' tall and only 20-25' wide. Transplants with ease.
