We love the way the motion of the subject’s hair contrasts with the direction of her body. This crisp action photo has good white balance, which can be difficult in a gymnasium setting. The worm’s eye view gives the impression of the subject being even higher as her feet appear to hit the ceiling. Her hair remains crisp and in focus even though she is in motion, demonstrating the photographer’s skill. This photo is a good example of when to use a flash – it helped the photographer get a clear image in this instance. It’s a great action shot of an impressive feat!
