We also think it’s cool that the pitcher is in sharp focus, wearing vivid colors, while the rest of the frame is out of focus and in neutral colors. Superb use of selective focus! The out-of-focus batter provides more context. The photo is made even better because it follows the rule of thirds. The pitcher’s arms create a line of movement for us to follow, directing our eye to the batter. The attention to detail in this photo makes it a standout.
