Did they lose the game? Did a player get injured? Technically, this is a good photo because it follows the rule of thirds, has good exposure and perfect white balance. Good depth of field between the players and background, along with the rich colors, contribute to the excellence of this photo along with an interesting angle. Had the photo been taken at straight eye level, we would have missed much of the anguish on the player’s face, lessening the impact of the photo.
