MAKER SPACE PROGRAMS

Schedule Your Creativity Today! G reat news! Beginning June 1, the Maker Space will be available by appointment whenever the library is open. Appointments help ensure staff are ready to assist and that the equipment you need is available. We’re unable to accommodate same-day appointments — please allow 24 hours for confirmation. Schedule an appointment: tinyurl.com/shpl-maker OPEN LAB We’ll also continue to offer Open Lab Hours with an additional day and time now available. You do not need an appointment for Open Lab, however, appointments are the only way to guarantee access to a specific machine. Mondays: 2-5 p.m. Tuesdays: 1-4 p.m. Wednesdays: 4:30-7:30 p.m. Saturdays: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Materials update: All Maker Space machines remain free to use for Sterling Heights residents and SLC cardholders, but materials are not included and must be purchased in the Maker Space or brought from home. Please call 586-446-2656 to verify with a Maker Space Librarian what materials are compatible with our machines and best suited for your project if you plan to bring your own supplies.

Makers Gonna Make Ages 18+ Come craft in the Maker Space and get inspiration for your next DIY! Whether you’re a seasoned maker or new to the world of crafting, this program is tailored to all skill levels. T 6/2, 8/4, 6 p.m. TH 7/16, 2 p.m. Maker Space 101 Ages 13+ In this tour of the Maker Space, you will become familiar with the equip ment and see examples of projects you can do to stretch your creativity. W 6/10, 10 a.m., 7/15, 6:30 p.m. M 8/10, 2 p.m. Cricut 101 Ages 18+ Cricut machines are great for craft ing but it can be intimidating to get started. Come for a quick overview of what they are and what they can do so you can confidently plan your next DIY project. W 7/29, 6 p.m. Cricut Stained Glass Ages 18+ Come and learn how Cricut machines can streamline the process of making stained glass patterns. Participants should have a basic knowledge of how to create stained glass. Knowledge on how to create a stained glass pattern digitally is recommended but not required. W 8/19, 6:30 p.m.
