Yard Gamers Ages 16+ A friendly yard-game club designed for individuals with disabilities. Play bocce, cornhole, ladder toss, and more. No experience needed. Enjoy casual competition, fresh air, and plenty of opportunities to relax, connect, and make new friends. Location: Bocce Barn W 7/1-8/26*, 6-7:30 p.m. $36/$48 *No class: 7/22

Summer Sensory Garden Ages 5-10 An adaptive garden series focused on sensory play and relaxed connection. Enjoy digging, seed sorting, mud painting, garden art, and butter fly-themed activities. Participants explore at their own pace with breaks as needed. Location: Nelson Park TH 6/11, 10-11:30 a.m. $8/$11 TH 7/9, 10-11:30 a.m. $8/$11 TH 8/13, 10-11:30 a.m. $8/$11 Adaptive Butterfly Adventures Ages 5-10 Discover butterflies in a hands-on, adaptive outdoor program. Search the garden, learn about the butterfly life cycle, and create your own decorated butterfly wings. Then “flutter” through the garden for a fun, imaginative adventure. Location: Nelson Park TH 6/25, 10-11 a.m. $8/$11 Amped Up A great way to add energy, connection, and adventure to the summer for individuals ages 5–26 with cognitive and/ or physical disabilities. The pro gram is designed for participants group games, and field trips. New participants and a parent/ guardian are required to schedule an assessment with the Program Coordinator and Adaptive Recreation Supervisor prior to the start of the program. Program fees do not include field trip. Nourishing Connections Ages 16+ An adaptive gardening program where participants build friendships through hands-on planting. Learn plant care, harvest together, and ex plore simple recipes. A fun, support ive environment that nurtures skills, confidence, and well-being. Supplies and refreshments included in the fee. Location: Nelson Park F 6/19-7/17*, 6-7:30 p.m. $45/$60 F 8/7-8/28, 6-7:30 p.m. $45/$60 *No Class: 7/3 Adaptive Bike Club Ages 10+ Explore Sterling Heights-area trails while building fitness and friend ships through biking. Open to riders with cognitive and/or physical im pairments. Bring your own bike and helmet; must ride independently. Helmets and bike safety inspections will be provided on the first day. Location: Varies weekly W 8/12-9/16, 6-7:30 p.m. $48/$62 Adaptive Kickball Ages 10+ Kick, run, or roll, wheel into the fun. This inclusive kickball program for children and adults with disabilities features flexible rules and support ive coaches. Stay active, build friend ships, and enjoy a welcoming game where everyone can participate. Location: Donovan Park TH 9/3-10/8, 6-7:30 p.m. $48/$62 Adaptive Yoga Ages 12+ For individuals with disabilities, with modifications for all bodies and abil ities. Enjoy a safe, encouraging class focused on balance, strength, breath ing, and mindfulness, supporting im proved health, mobility, and overall well-being. CI Junior* Ages 5-10 Designed for children diagnosed with a developmental delay or cognitive impairment. CI Tween* Ages 11-16 Designed for (pre)teens diag nosed with a developmental delay or cognitive impairment. CI Senior* Ages 17-26 Designed for teens & young adults diagnosed with a developmental delay or cognitive impairment. POHI Ages 10-26 This program is designed for (pre)teens and young adults who have physical or other health impairments. Qualified trained staff are in place to address these specific needs.
