50+ Programming S taying active and engaged in life are key components of aging well. The Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation team provides a variety of programming specifically geared for individuals over the age of 50. The Senior Center is a great place for many of our events; but programs can also be found at the Community Center, local parks and other locations in the area. Many of our services are free or have low-cost fees, affordable to most. Membership is required to participate in any of our drop-in style programming, can be purchased at any time and is valid for one full year from time of purchase.* The cost is $16 Resident/$32 Non-resident. Membership does not include the cost for classes, trips or special events. Members must still register even if the program mentions the cost is free for members. See the current edition of the Fifty Plus Post for details and a comprehensive listing of current 50+ programming. You won’t find the fountain of youth in our programming, but you will find opportunities to age well, and who doesn’t want to do that! The Fifty Plus Post can be viewed four easy ways: 1. In Print: Available free of charge at the Senior Center, Community Center and the Sterling Heights Public Library. 2. Online: myshpr.net On the home page, click on image of 50+ programs then on the Fifty Plus Post. 3.
