Capital Hatters Capital Hatters, out of Stephenville, Texas, is a custom hat shop specializ ing in handcrafted felt and straw hats. Founded in 2004 by James Andrae in his garage, the business has since expanded into a 5,000-square-foot facility offering a wide range of prod ucts and services.​ “Capital Hatters are awesome! We have a couple custom hats from them that we’re real happy with. They also carry some off the rack felts and straws as well,” said one reader. As far as custom hats go, they offer everything from 10X rabbit to 100X beaver felt, and if you really want to go big, there’s the Signature Series hand-shaped by founder James Andrae himself. And when you go the custom route, you customize every thing — size, color, brim width, crown height, shape, and band style. Capital Hatters also has a solid lineup of off the rack hats from brands

like American, Resistol, Rodeo King, and Twister. They also offer hat cleaning and renovation, plus boot, saddle, and leather repair, which means if you wear it or ride it, they can probably fix it.
