She is a true matriarch and a living history book of both our ranch and the Madison Valley.

Little light makes for short days this time of year! FRIDAY, JANUARY 3 Morning chores consisted of letting the dogs out, feeding the horses, cows and checking the water tanks. We did a herd health check and made sure a couple calves that have been under the weather were doing okay.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 4 Today looked really similar to yester day, but we did evening chores pretty early in order to make it into town for the high school basketball game. SUNDAY, JANUARY 5 Did morning chores as usual and then took the opportunity to take the afternoon a little easier and enjoy the Sunday. This coming week is busy with cow work so this day felt like the

calm before the storm. MONDAY, JANUARY 6
