THOMASINA GASTON HAS FLIPPED THE SCRIPT INSIDE THE LOCKER ROOM AT EISENHOWER. The Eagles really struggled before her arrival and she has built her program brick by brick. Gone is Defensive Player of the Year Scejeonna Anderson to graduation, but Gaston is building a program that will reload, not rebuild. Running the show this season is Keyara Ford, the senior captain at the point guard spot . In the paint is Taylor Day and Keiora Gaines, who will need to score inside and protect the basket . Ike could break into the playoff conversation with a few good bounces and baskets.

THE EISENHOWER EAGLES REACHED THE POSTSEASON LAST YEAR, COMING IN FOURTH IN DISTRICT 14-6A PLAY. With a pair of first-teamers returning, a playoff appearance won’ t be good enough for coach James Johnson. “We started slow last season and turned it on late,” Johnson said. “We gave a way several close games. We have to start fast in district play to get better playoff positioning.” Keylon Curry and Davion Curry were a dynamic duo as juniors, but how will they wrap up their careers? Marcos Rodriguez is a talented playmaker and Jaden Parker will play a bigger roll this season. All of that senior experience should show in the win column down the stretch in tight games.
