USE FILE BUILDER TO CREATE PAGES Note: To do all exercises, the Walsworth Enhancements from Support Download must be installed on each workstation, and the Using InDesign Activities folder must be copied to your desktop from Support Download. The File Builder Enhancement enables the Parent Book or Parent Template files to be divided into the recommended double-page spreads for easier file management. Use the file you created and practice opening a Parent Book and using File Builder. 1. Open the ParentBook.indd file in your _IDPractice > D1 folder you created in Exercise 1. Create a Parent Book. 2. Click the File Builder button on the Control Center. 3. Click the Auto Fill Spread(s) button. This will split your page ranges into double page spreads. Notice that page 1 will be in a separate file. 4. Click Next . 5. Choose a destination folder by clicking the … button. Browse to the _IDPractice folder and into the Pages folder. 6. Check the Create folder(s) for each resulting fill box . File Builder will create Folders for each spread and save your page files of the same name into each folder. 7. Click Build . 8. Once File Builder is complete, save and close the ParentBook.indd file.
