Truckin' on the Western Branch

Julie MacKinlay Julie Whitehurst MacKinlay lives in the house she was born in in 1939 in Virginia Beach but has a close connection to Churchland . My father, William Lee Whitehurst, had 1,000 acres of truck farms in the Pughsville area. My mother was Margaret Ballard Whitehurst, daughter of John Wright Ballard and Effie Toler Ballard, and we visited Churchland often. Juliet Ballard was my aunt as is Judy Hathaway. I remember Floral Point and Elsie Loney who worked for the Ballards.
