WALSWORTH DESIGN OPTIONS Some yearbook staffs decide they need a little creative boost to get the ball rolling on their yearbook design, rather than starting everything from scratch. If that is your circumstance, Walsworth offers a few options. LIBRARIES Core Libraries and Express Libraries are two important design options for InDesign users. The Core Libraries are comprised of pre-designed templates that can be used in your yearbook as-is, or changed to meet your needs. Instead of complete layouts, Express Libraries use portions of pre-designed elements, such as headlines, scoreboards or photo groupings. To open any of the Core or Express Libraries: 1. Go to File>Open . 2. Navigate to the _WPCYB folder on the hard drive. 3. Open the Express Libraries folder, select a library and choose Open . To place a library element on your page: 1. With the Selection tool, click on the element you wish to place, then from the library menu choose Place Item. 2. The library elements will be placed on the page in a group. To work with the individual elements, click on the item then choose Object > Ungroup. (Please note that not all of the Core Library items are grouped.) 3. You can now use the Type tool to highlight and change any of the text in the element, or use the Selection tool to resize or move any element. You may want to use InDesign’s library feature to create your own library. To create your library: 1. Select File > New > Library. 2. Name your library and browse to the location where you want to save it. 3. Click Save. 4. On your page, draw the element you want to add to the library. It is not necessary to group your element, although you can group it to ensure it will not be altered during the placing process. To group it, select all pieces of the element, then select Object > Group. All elements can now be moved as one object.

Before specifying color information on a page, check your ladder to ensure you are inputting the correct color information. Walsworth will print your page as you specify in this dialog. If you have not specified color properly, you could incur substantial additional charges to your yearbook.
