In a July 5 editorial, the Tahlequah Daily Press noted that Mr. Birdwell’s heroism has long been known by those around him, but he’s a humble man and not one to boast about how he saved so many lives while he was seriously injured himself. But his friends, as well as President Biden, had no problem giving credit where it’s due. Applications are now being accepted for a full-time position of Magistrate Judge in Tulsa. The duties are demanding and wide-ranging and will include: (1) conduct of most preliminary proceedings in criminal cases; (2) trial and disposition of misdemeanor cases; (3) conduct of various pretrial motions and evidentiary proceedings as may be delegated by the Judges of the District Court; and (4) trial and disposition of civil cases upon consent of the litigants.
