In a July 5 editorial, the Tahlequah Daily Press noted that Mr. Birdwell’s heroism has long been known by those around him, but he’s a humble man and not one to boast about how he saved so many lives while he was seriously injured himself. Applications are now being accepted for a full-time position of Magistrate Judge in Tulsa. The duties are demanding and wide-ranging and will include: (1) conduct of most preliminary proceedings in criminal cases; (2) trial and disposition of misdemeanor cases; (3) conduct of various pretrial motions and evidentiary proceedings as may be delegated by the Judges of the District Court; and (4) trial and disposition of civil cases upon consent of the litigants.
