In Case You Missed It: Two Major Enhancements to Your OBA CLE Experience

By Janet Johnson

O VER THE YEARS, one thing has remained consistent: OBA members are not shy about telling us what works, what doesn’t, and where we can do better. That’s exactly the kind of feedback we want because it helps us ensure that your bar association continues to deliver services that meet the evolv ing needs of Oklahoma lawyers. In August, we announced two significant enhancements to our CLE program. These upgrades officially launched Sept. 15, and I want to take a moment to remind members about these changes and, more importantly, why they matter. First, one of the most frequently requested improvements to our web cast CLE programs is finally becom ing a reality: live chat functionality. For years, members have told us they wanted the ability to engage with pre senters during a webcast, ask ques tions as issues arise, and interact with the material in real time. Every live webcast CLE program now includes a live chat feature that allows attend ees to submit questions and com ments during the presentation. While this may sound like a small change, it represents a significant improvement in the online learning experience. CLE should not feel like simply watching a recording. It should be engaging, interactive, and respon sive. Live chat gives our members the opportunity to participate in the con versation rather than simply observe it.

value in return. We believe these enhancements accomplish exactly that. The legal profession continues to change. The way attorneys learn, connect, and consume educational content is changing as well. OBA CLE must continue evolving to meet those expectations. These updates are part of a broader commitment to making sure the CLE experience we provide remains relevant, practical, and worthy of your investment. Most importantly, these changes are the direct result of member feed back. You told us what would improve your CLE experience, and we listened. If you haven’t explored these new offerings yet, I encourage you to do so. I believe you’ll see that these enhance ments represent more than new features. They represent our contin ued investment in serving Oklahoma lawyers and delivering greater value through your OBA membership. Thank you for your continued sup port of the Oklahoma Bar Association.

We’re also excited to launch a new collaboration with Berkeley Law School that will substantially expand the CLE content available to OBA members. This partnership will provide access to a broader range of programming, speakers, and perspectives, all available through the OBA CLE catalog. Whether you’re looking for programming in a highly specialized practice area, seeking fresh insight on emerging legal issues, or simply wanting more options to meet your annual CLE requirements, this collaboration cre ates opportunities that did not pre viously exist within our catalog. One of our goals has been to increase the value members receive from OBA CLE membership without requiring attorneys to search elsewhere for quality programming. This collabo ration helps us accomplish that goal. As with any new features, I recognize that members may have questions about pricing. To support these improvements, including the technology invest ment required for live chat and the expanded programming available through our new collaboration, CLE program costs will increase by an average of $10 per program. We understand that no one welcomes price increases, and we approached this decision carefully. Our commitment was to keep any adjustment reasonable while ensuring that members receive meaningful
