102 The First Hundred Years: Clearwater Yacht Club, 1911-2011 Recently, the club held a similar event for another group of people who are often the recipients of charitable gifts but less often the recipients of party invitations. The sailing siblings Zach and Paige Railey and Paige’s twin sister Brooke decided they wanted to do something to honor the memory held for donations from club members and the event was a very meaningful day. The number of clients attending has now grown to over 125 clients plus UPARC staff.” CYC members have collectively donated around $10,000 each year to UPARC as part of this event. While this money is deeply appreciated by UPARC, it is not what makes this event so special. Many organizations around town hold fundraisers for UPARC, very few invite the clients to the party. Many folks want to do things for this organization and the clients it serves. Few want to do things with them. This event has done much to enhance the club’s reputation for inclusiveness.
