Sweet Adelines International 75th Jubilee Commemorative Album

MAXX Factor gains national recognition as a contestant in The Sing-Off.

Because we don’t read music, and needed to arrange and learn a cappella music on the fly, we spent long nights listening to music through headphones, then up by four a.m. each day for a fitting. We had fun teaching tags and singing for other contestants in the hotel lobby. A van fromWarner Brothers Studio picked us up each morning at 7 a.m.; we would make one stop at fast food restaurants to pick up food for the day. We were so grateful for makeup and hair professionals who hid the evidence that we were exhausted! —Leslie Shoenhard Seven million people watched NBC-TV’s The Sing-Off, but none so proudly as the members of Sweet Adelines International as they cheered on MAXX Factor, 2011 Queens of Harmony — and their fans weren’t disappointed! From left: Kim Gray, baritone; Leslie Shoenhard, lead; Molly Plummer, tenor; and Valerie Hadfield-Rasnake, bass.
