Coins for Circus Circus as Well as a Renovated Big Top

M ost slot gamers are accustomed to inserting a few bills in a machine before spinning some reels. However, at one time gamblers used coins and slot tokens to play their favorite games. Those looking for some vintage slot action now have another Las Vegas location to check out. The sounds of casino tokens can now be heard at Circus Circus, right on the Strip. The property recently added coin-op machines to its slot lineup, the only property now on the Strip featuring some coin action.Along with the new slots, the property announced a renovation project in May after being acquired by casino mogul Phil Ruffin, who also owns Treasure Island and the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. Plans call for interior renovations to be completed by next spring, with hotel updates and a new exterior look to follow. The property is also looking to grow its staff, trying to add 200 employees in the coming months. The property has worked to appeal to families even more in recent years with an expanded pool and additions to theAdveturedome theme park. The casino is a key property in the growing north end of the Strip.

RAIDERS & REELS Football fans looking to mix in some slot play with some gridiron action will find the Raiders playing their third season in Las Vegas. The team finished 10-7 in 2021 before losing to the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round of the playoffs.

COACH K FOR THE WIN?

I t turns out even legendary Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski is a fan of slot machines. The five-time national champion coach of the Blue Devils retired earlier this year and seemed to be enjoying himself after leaving the game behind. A fellow casino player posted a video of the coach playing what he said were $100 spins and enjoying a drink in the process. No word on whether Coach K racked up a nice win,but the video went viral after Bleacher Report picked up the video onTwitter. Some users felt the“cameraman”was out of line and should just let the 75-year-old retired coach enjoy some time at the casino in his retirement. “Such a creepy video,”one user noted.“Let the man live.” Another commenter added:“Damn, can the man just live. Why do people do this shit? Nobody’s damn business howmuch he spends.”
