Where to stay Set on 13 acres of pretty gardens, The Parker Palm Springs originally opened as California’s fi rst Holiday Inn in the 1950s and has since undergone several transformations; Jonathan Adler reimagined the hotel with a $27m shake-up and now, it is a gorgeously eclectic hotel that pays homage to its roots with chic, retro touches.
