RESTORING THE AMERICAN WEST MONTANA

Journeys with Purpose, a conservation travel specialist, is rolling out two new trips for 2025, including its fi rst-ever programs in North America. One of these new adventures takes guests behind the scenes of a major conservation project aimed at protecting one of the last remaining temperate grassland ecosystems in the US. Hosted by Sean Gerrity, founder of American Prairie (a nonpro fi t working to establish one of the country’s largest nature reserves), this journey explores the mammoth 3.2-million-acre landscape of shortgrass prairie, sagebrush, riparian areas and the rugged Missouri Breaks. Expect to spend days fl oating along the Missouri River, where bison, prairie dogs and elk roam freely, and nights in a private purpose-built camp under the stars. This ecosystem is disappearing fast, but here, people and wildlife have coexisted for millennia. The trip brings a chance to see conservation in action, meet the people making it happen and experience a landscape that’s as wild as it is important to protect. Price on request.
