troubles for a few hours, that’s what makes all the headaches worth it.” Fenstermaker reiterated that what makes this all so rewarding for him personally is simply, “Seeing the kids smile. It’s about the kids.”
“That’s what I tell people. Finding a point where you have both (time and money) is challenging, not to mention just running the truck. It’s five days of working on it for six minutes of running it, then five more days of working on it.”
Such is the life in this line of work for Fenstermaker as monster truck shows are his full-time job. “This is how I pay my bills. I drive for other teams and run Earthquake with my wife, Tiffany. “Last year (2021), between driving modern trucks and my own, we did about 65 shows. This year (2022), I didn’t schedule as many shows to concentrate on getting some shop work done. So far, we’ve done about 40 shows.”
“It doesn’t matter how bad of a day you had, or what you’re going through. If I can make you forget about your troubles for a few hours, that’s what makes all the headaches worth it.”
Regardless of how much time it all takes and any challenging things along the way, Fenstermaker has a good understanding of what makes these performances worthwhile. “I tell people if you do it for any other reason than to see kids of all ages smile, you’re in it for the wrong reason. “It doesn’t matter how bad of a day you had, or what you’re going through.
