Addison Lawrence Multi-time school record holder at College Heights Christian School

A ddie Lawrence is a superstar. This College Heights senior has excelled in volleyball, basketball, softball and track throughout her high school career. She has won gold at state multiple times and broken countless school records in track, volleyball and softball. Addie currently holds school records in all her track events; last year she led her volleyball team in kills and aces; and she led her softball team in RBIs and broke the school record. Addie is also a two-time finalist for the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Sports Commission Awards Ceremony. This girl truly has the heart of a champion. How long have you played each of your sports? I play volleyball, basketball, softball and track. I have played volleyball since I was 11 years old, basketball since I was eight and softball since I was five. I started with CJ Freedom track clubs when I was seven but started school track when I was 10. What’s your favorite sport? What do you enjoy most about it? My favorite sport to play is volleyball. The thing I enjoy most about it is just the team, the bond we have and the memories we make. And, I just feel free when I play. When it comes to sports, what is a great piece of advice you’ve received from a coach, mentor or parent? Some good advice I have received from my dad was a small sticky note that said, “I am created in the likeness and image of God… God must be really fast.” And, I think that is what gave me a lot of motivation and joy this past season. A lot of times it is easy to get down and just want to give up, but then I see that sticky note and remember God has given every single person a gift in the likeness of Him. He sees every single one of us and how we use that gift He gave us. And, yes, people read that quote and giggle and agree! I see that quote and just think about God and Him watching over me and seeing me use the gift He gave me to glorify Him. Tell us a little bit about your life outside of sports. Do you have any siblings? Pets? Other hobbies and interests? I was adopted at birth, and I have two older birth sisters. In my family, there are four kids, and I have a stepsister. I have three cats and one dog. I like to hang out with my friends, but I never have any free time! “I just think about God and Him watching over me and seeing me use the gift He gave me to glorify Him.” – Addison Lawrence
