Lamb, it’s what’s for lunch. That was true for students in Woodford County (Ky.) Public Schools on two special days this semes ter. Food Service Direc tor Courtney Quire took advantage of a Local Foods for Schools grant to purchase lamb from Four Hills Farm.

All Carol Wagner wanted was to complete a sheep to sweater project with sheep she raised and wool she processed. It makes for a humble origin story for Hidden Valley Farm & Woolen Mill in Wisconsin.

Last month, members of ASI from all across the country traveled to the nation’s capital to participate in ASI’s annual Spring Trip to advocate on behalf of the sheep industry’s top issues and priorities.

The American Lamb Board allocates funds through the Cooperative Funding Program for local sheep producer groups, lamb suppliers and direct mar keters to cost-share marketing efforts that align with ALB’s mission.
