SECOND BAPTIST SCHOOL GIRLS SWIM HAD A TREMENDOUS SEASON IN THE POOL. THE EAGLES REMAINED COMPETITIVE IN THEIR DISTRICT THROUGHOUT THE WINTER, BEFORE QUALIFYING FOR THE TAPPS REGIONAL MEET. HEADLINED BY SENIOR ELAINE ADAMS – WHO FINISHED SEVENTH IN THE GIRLS 50 FREESTYLE (29.85S) – THE EAGLES FINISHED EIGHTH OVERALL AGAINST SOME TOUGH COMPETITION. ON THE BOYS’ SIDE, COACH MARK HAHN’S GROUP ENJOYED A BIT MORE SUCCESS AT REGIONALS, WITH NUMEROUS SWIMMERS QUALIFYING FOR THE STATE MEET. SUBSEQUENTLY, SBS WOULD PROCEED TO SHINE IN THE TAPPS-II CHAMPIONSHIP. MOST NOTABLY, SENIOR LEIGHTON CHAPMAN TOOK GOLD IN THE 200 (1:42.48) AND 500 FREESTYLE (4:43.94), WHILE THE RELAY TEAM TOOK SILVER IN THE 400 FREESTYLE (3:27.42). THE EAGLES CONCLUDED THE STATE MEET THIRD OVERALL WITH A GRAND TOTAL OF 184 POINTS. SWIMMING
