Screwpiles: The Forgotten Lighthouses

The lamps used in the James River screwpile lighthouses would have been Argand gravity-feed single-fountain lamps from 1865 to approximately 1892. The Funck-Heap lamp was installed in all James River lighthouses after March 1892.
