Screwpiles: The Forgotten Lighthouses

This painting was done by educator/artist Harry Franklin, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and a shipmate of Tom Serres, lightkeeper of Holland Island Bar screwpile lighthouse. Franklin heard and read so many of Serres’s lighthouse stories that he painted this as a tribute to both the lighthouse and the lightkeepers.
