Bunker Hill Memories

"I remember that first chilly walk to the swimmin’ hole - rocks lodged between tender feet and new thongs. I remember the squiggly wrigglers at water’s edge: the tadpoles, minnows, water-strider spiders and myriad other creatures I trapped into their new home, a hastily dug pool inches from Jacks Fork. I remember fast walks to the cave, where we spent hours in the cool, moist air of the interior searching for bears (at first), then rodents, blind fish and Indian sign. I remember huge dinners, all the while falling in love with the resident servers - all much too old for me. I remember volleyball on a full belly, then square-dancing and card games.” — Douglas De Woody, Las Vegas, NV

“This trip of friends and family began in 1959 with my grandparents, the Keeling clan. Now, we are the third generation with the York and Cochran families. We have shared our special place with 12 new families for the last 7 years... Every Memorial Day weekend!” — Jessica York Cochran

“This is a picture of my brother and I as kids (likely 1990). Now we take our kids every summer!” — Suzy Bourner Zerr

“I’ve been going to Bunker Hill Ranch for 57 years and with 5 generations of family. This is a photo of everyone in the 3rd generation.”

"The Borgstede tradition started in the fall of 1956. I was 6 months old. We’ve been visiting ever since. Here is our group from this year’s Memorial Day weekend. So many memories. — Bob Borgstede
