AUBRY KRUSE Aubry joined MSTA as a Member Service Coordinator in early June, following Jeff Stacy’s retirement. She previously taught elementary students for 12 years and also worked as a Title 1 Reading and Math Interventionist. She earned an associate's degree in education from Crowder College in 2008 before graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri in 2010. She later earned a master’s degree in reading with a reading specialist licensure from Pittsburg State University in 2013. Originally from Jefferson City, Aubry now resides on a small farm with her family just outside of Fairview. She enjoys serving MSTA members in many ways everyday - whether it is answering questions, acting as mediator, negotiating for what is best for members within their school districts or meeting members to provide support. within our state and for teachers. I have always felt very passionate about empowering teachers and helping teachers around me to reach their potential. I can’t think of an organization that does that better than MSTA! MSTA produced a video last year that really resonated with me. The video was about all the things on your plate as a teacher and all the things MSTA provides. Now, more than ever teachers need things taken off of their HEATHER CRANE Heather started at MSTA in March and has been a wonderful asset as a Member Care Representative. She previously worked as a medical transcriptionist and in a lab, where she was an immigration specialist and customer service representative, alongside performing Covid testing. Heather grew up in New Mexico and Arizona but has lived in Missouri for a long time now. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Spanish. Why MSTA? My husband is a teacher and has always had great things to say about MSTA. Why MSTA? As a teacher, I saw the great work that MSTA did
plate and someone constantly working for them behind the scenes so they can do their best work educating the future. I’m proud to be a part of an organization like MSTA because we are always working for you! What have you learned so far at MSTA? I have learned that MSTA really is one of the best organizations. Every MSTA staff member really cares about our members and feel their work is to support and empower educators. I feel so privileged that I get to work with the best staff and talk to educators every day! Teachers will always be my people! What’s a fun fact about you? What do you like to do? Although I’m not much of a swimmer, the water is one of my favorite places to be. Table Rock Lake is where I like to spend my weekends with my husband and kids - boating, swimming, tubing, and manning the orange flag for those thrown into the water. If you see someone riding along the lake on a Big Bubba, don’t forget to wave because it just might be me! My husband and I also love antiquing. We live in a 110-year-old farmhouse that has a lot of character and provides a constant home project. One of our favorite getaways is to find a new Flea Market or Antique Mall. There is something quite beautiful about pieces that have a lot of character and withstand time. We have made it our goal to only fill our home with our favorite old things and people that we love! What have you learned so far at MSTA? I’ve learned that I love this work environment and my coworkers. There is an ebb and flow to the year, with enrollments ramping up before the deadline, registrations right before the Leadership Conference and new memberships at the beginning of the school year. What’s a fun fact about you? What do you like to do? I love the St Louis Cardinals! I like to travel, read, watch movies and hang out with my family – my husband, 3 teenagers and a dog.
