Kathryn “Katie” Callahan, a 15-year-old sopho more at the Academy of S.t Elizabeth, has been chosen as our Athlete of the Month. Katie is a multi-sport athlete, excelling in various sports and demonstrating outstanding dedication and skill. Katie’s best sport is lacrosse, a passion she has pursued since third grade. As a starting varsity lacrosse player for her high school since fresh

man year, Katie’s talent shines through. In the past year alone, she scored an impressive 27 goals and led her team with 40 assists. Her exceptional per formance earned her the titles of ALL League (Non-public B) and 2nd team all-league for NJIGLL. Additionally, she received the Most Valuable Player award for JV field hockey. Currently, Katie plays for the CLC RISE 2025 travel team, showcasing her abilities in lacrosse at a competitive level. Katie is not only an outstanding athlete but also a dedicated student. She has consistently made the honor roll for the past two years and is an exemplary student-athlete. Her favorite subject is English, showcasing her passion for language and literature. When asked about her inspiration, Katie mentions her club coach, Michelle McGuinness. Coach McGuinness encouraged Katie to step out of her com fort zone and try a new position in defense. This experience taught Katie the value of taking risks and broadening her horizons.
