MASPO FOLLIES MAPSO FAMILY FOLLIES RETURNS FOR A NIGHT OF COMMUNITY TALENT
The highly anticipated 2nd Annual MapSO Family Follies is set to take place on Thursday, November 21st, at The Woodland, promising an evening filled with old-timey talent and delightful, quirky performances. Following last year’s overwhelming success, the Follies aims to bring the community together once again for a night of laughter and creativity. “This event is all about fun and inclusivity,” says Sybil Rodgers, the event’s co-producer. “We want everyone—families, friends, and even local businesses—to come together and share their talents.” With auditions slated for October 9th, performers of all ages, from 9 to 99, are encouraged to participate in multi-generational acts, making it a true celebration of community spirit. Last year’s Follies featured a heartwarming array of performances, including juggling, tap dancing, and even a magician. “The talent was incredible,” recalls Tori Chickering, returning director and co-producer. “We had everything from a mother-son duo to a chicken suit act. It was a night to remember!” Auditions will be held at The Woodland, where aspiring performers can showcase a 1-2 minute act. “This isn’t a contest; it’s a chance to share your creativity and have a blast,” says Zakiyyah Williams from the Maplewood Department of Arts & Culture. “We welcome all forms of talent—just keep it fun and family-friendly!” The Follies also welcomes volunteers and backstage helpers.
