STUDIO TOUR SOMA STUDIO TOUR SOMA CELEBRATES 21 YEARS OF ARTISTIC COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT The much-anticipated Studio Tour SOMA returns for its 21st year on November 2nd and 3rd, showcasing the work of over 100 talented artists. This free, self-guided event invites art enthusiasts to explore local studios, meet the artists, and gain insight into their creative processes. “An absolute standout, unique experience! The SOMA Studio Tour gives you a deeper sense of the artists behind the art,” says Broadway star Satomi Hoffmann. With over 1,000 visitors expected, this year’s tour promises a treasure trove of artistic discovery. “Going on the Tour feels like going on a treasure hunt. It’s a day full of delight,” shares longtime attendee Sarah Hewitt-Roth. The event not only celebrates established artists but also serves as an incubator for emerging talent. The program offers mentorship to five-star artists from Columbia High School, along with waivers for five adult artists, ensuring inclusivity within the community. Local artist Sybil Archibald emphasizes the tour’s impact, stating, “The fabric of community the Studio Tour has woven over the years is amazing and means everything to me as a local artist.” Visitors can enjoy group exhibits at various venues, including The Parlor at the Woodland and Trinity Church. Join us in celebrating the creative spirit that defines South Orange and Maplewood—the Studio Tour SOMA offers a rich experience for everyone!
