THE HUB @JESPY THE HUB AT JESPY: EMPOWERING FUTURES AND ENRICHING SOUTH ORANGE

In South Orange, inclusion forms the very foundation of community values, and JESPY House exemplifies this spirit with unwavering dedication. Proudly announcing The Hub, JESPY unveils a dynamic space to support young adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities on their journey to independence and community engagement. “At JESPY, we do much more than provide services—we empower individuals to build their futures,” says Audrey Winkler, Executive Director of JESPY House. “The Hub will be a place where young adults can learn, grow, and contribute to the town that has embraced them.” Affordable housing units at The Hub aim to serve clients unable to afford living in South Orange otherwise. JESPY clients like Ny-Sheer C., actively participating in the Day Program and JESPY sports, look forward to The Hub. “This has a lot to do with our future,” Ny Sheer says. “We want to be able to move out and have our own place and other opportunities.”

The Hub promises to be a launchpad for independence, providing young adult housing designed for fully independent living, recreational services like an art studio and music room, and life skills programs including travel training and financial literacy. Development spaces with a library, wellness center, and technology lab will foster peer collaboration and learning. Christian, a JESPY client and local Wegman’s employee, notes, “I have grown so much at JESPY. The Hub will provide me with skills so that I can continue to grow.” Dr. Ahadi Bugg-Levine, President of JESPY’s Board of Trustees, emphasizes the broader impact. “Investing in young adults equips them to lead fulfilling lives and make meaningful contributions. The Hub ensures SOMa remains a leader in inclusion and innovation.” By engaging residents and community leaders, JESPY ensures The Hub reflects South Orange’s values, promoting a future where every resident thrives.
