FACES IN THE CROWD

Congratulations to Dave Giles on his exhibition at the re-opening of the Pierro Gallery, located within the newly renovated Baird Arts Center. Here he presents four watercolor paintings that delve into the homeless crisis in the United States, specifically focusing on individuals in the New York City area. These works aim to capture the stark realities, helplessness, and social invisibility of those living without shelter. Through the fluid and contrasting colors of watercolor, he seeks to highlight the urgency of this crisis and evoke a sense of empathy and responsibility among viewers. Meet Waffles & Winter! These playful one-year-old domestic short hairs, not siblings but inseparable since their shelter days, found their forever home with the Guerrero Harsh family last December. Waffles charms with his sociable antics, while Winter prefers sweet naps in her hammock.
